In the hotel in the Bernese Oberland, which has been family-run for four generations, great importance is attached to sustainability. Guests can now make a contribution to climate protection. With CHF 2.00 per night, the CO2 emissions of an overnight stay can be compensated. In this way, guests achieve a double effect with their commitment. The Belvedere Grindelwald hotel doubles these contributions and invests in its own sustainability measures.
All the energy for the hotel already comes from Swiss hydroelectric power stations and heat from "Holzwärme Grindelwald", as well as from the hotel's own heat pump, which is carbon neutral. In addition, the rooms are cooled by groundwater, which is climate-friendly. With the money from the Belvedere Grindelwald's «Cause We Care»-sustainability fund, further innovative and efficient environmental measures will be implemented in the future.
