Schloss Wartegg

tonnes of CO2 reductions financed

climate-neutral bookings

francs mobilised for local sustainability

This is how it works:

With a contribution of CHF 2 per person per night, the guests of the Schloss Wartegg are given the opportunity to invest the CO₂ emissions of their offer or product in climate protection projects with myclimate and make a contribution to local sustainability. At the same time, Schlosshotel Wartegg doubles these contributions and invest in their own sustainability. In this way, the guests achieve a double effect with their commitment.

How does «Cause We Care» work?

The eco-hotel on Lake Constance – first Swiss Historic Hotel in Eastern Switzerland – offers comfortable relaxation in the midst of beautiful nature with culinary delights and cultural stimulation.

For the operators of the castle-like hotel, ecology means using resources in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Sustainable and ecological factors play a fundamental role in every decision that is made. This applies to energy production, the choice of suppliers and products, garden management, the preparation of meals in the kitchen, and the care and treatment of guests and employees. The consideration of all areas of the business enables us to implement a holistic, sustainable and future-oriented hotel concept, thus offering future generations a place of relaxation and inspiration in a beautiful surrounding.

As part of the myclimate «Cause We Care»-Initiative, guests at the Schlosshotel Wartegg now also have the opportunity to make an effective contribution to sustainability with their voluntary donation.

«Cause We Care» Measures

The terracing and creation of dry sites above the vegetable garden

Above the vegetable garden in the castle garden, Schloss Wartegg models a terracing with stones, creating various dry locations for insects and plants. With their many spaces and cavities, they offer shelter to various small and large creatures. With this, Schloss Wartegg promotes biodiversity for insects and plants in poor habitats.

Big tree felling campaign

Due to global warming, more and more tree species are having difficulties and are becoming ill. In the park many ash trees have been written, and maple trees are being felled. In autumn 2023, new tree species that can cope better with the warmer temperatures will be planted (chestnuts, oaks and also two tulip trees)
