Thurgau Travel has long been committed to climate protection and sustainability in the tourism industry. Thanks to the new partnership with myclimate, even more specific sustainability measures in the company are now tackled. "For Thurgau Travel, sustainability and environmental protection have always been an important part of our company philosophy, which is why myclimate «Cause We Care» fits perfectly to us. We are delighted to be the first river tour operator to join the initiative", says Pia Kaufmann, deputy managing director of Thurgau Travel and member of the entrepreneurial family.
How is «Cause We Care»implemented at Thurgau Travel?
When booking a trip, guests can make a voluntary contribution of 3.25% of the tour price and thus receive a climate-neutral river trip. In return, Thurgau Travel then doubles every contribution. On the one hand, this ensures the full compensation of the river trip through the myclimate project "Mangrove Reforestation and Promotion of Women" in Myanmar. The remaining amount is invested in internal and local sustainability measures, such as the inspection of the ship fleet and other sustainability business measures.
